There’s a mystifying sensation and surge of adrenaline when you know you’re about to witness something great. When I first began to discover and listen to heavy metal as a teenager there were 3 bands that started my obsession with the genre. Black Sabbath, the founders of heavy metal, Motorhead, and Metallica. Metallica has always remained somewhere in my personal top 5 all time favorite bands. Every day on my bus ride to and from school I was listening to something from one of their first 5 (perfect) albums, Kill ‘Em All (1983), Ride the Lightning (1984), Master of Puppets (1986), …And Justice For All (1988), and Metallica/The Black Album (1991). This last Friday, May 12th, I finally saw my metal heroes live in concert.

Holiday’s can be a stressful time for people alike, and as the season approaches, the ways in which children deal with holiday stress is often overlooked. In my opinion, buying holiday gifts is about giving someone an item that they might not purchase for themselves. Today, I am going to give you five, gender-neutral, gift ideas that are sure to be used by the recipient.
On Thursday, you might have eaten a surplus of food. Grub that is rich in fat and the “evil” carbohydrates, such as pumpkin pie, rolls and stuffing. However, should we feel guilty about indulging in carbohydrates?
One question that has always stumped me, as someone who is food label conscious, is as to whether or not carbohydrates are as evil as thought? According to livescience.com, “carbohydrates are the sugars, starches and fibers found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk products”. While this definition might be unclear to anyone who does not regularly study food science, including me, the key words in the previous statement “fruits”, “grains”, “vegetables” and “milk” all ring a bell. So, carbohydrates are good, right? Well they can be.
